Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Designs, modifies, develops, writes and implements software programming applications
  • Configures and administers middleware components of web applications
  • Supports and/or installs software applications/operating systems
  • Participates in the testing process through test review and analysis, test witnessing and certification of software
  • Designs, plans, and coordinates work teams
  • Provides technical support to project team members
  • Familiar with a variety of the field’s concepts, practices, and procedures
  • Must be able to work independently and as part of team to achieve project goals, with a wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected
  • Must be able to communicate orally and in writing
  • Reports to a program manager and/or tech leader

Minimum Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Systems Analysis, Systems Engineering, or Computer Science or associated discipline preferred and a minimum of 7-10 years of applicable experience

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • The ability to design and create the new high-impact data visualization applications to make data actionable and facilitate decision making for the clients
  • The basics, of course: HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript
  • Experience JavaScript libraries such as jQuery, DataTables.js, D3.js, crossfilter, Dc.js
  • Experience Responsive Mobile design tools (Bootstrap)
  • Experience Ajax implementation, including JSON and/or XML experience
  • Experience with large data sets (SQL, Oracle, Excel, etc.)
  • Rapid, iterative, low and high-fidelity prototyping

Preferred Experience

  • Experience Java front-end web design
  • Experience designing and implementing RESTful web services
  • Can learn and pick up new technologies very quickly

Security Requirements

  • Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information
  • Must be able to obtain and keep a USPS Sensitive Clearance
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or have a Green Card and have been living in the U.S. for at least the last five years
  • Applicant cannot have traveled outside of the U.S. for more than 180 days in the past 5 years
